SuperbThe beginning of a great series from Ava Richardson - I loved the characters in this book， they are well developed and their story is gripping。I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review。

I really liked this story。 I thought it was fun and different that what I normally read。 There was a lot of world building but it was well done。 Unfortunately I just didn't like Del。 Which is a problem since he is the narrator。 He did show some character growth over the book， but not as much as one would think given the situation。 There was a lot of good action though and I liked the others （mostly）。 And how can you not like a dragon。 It's impossible。 So overall a good read， but I am not sure I I really liked this story。 I thought it was fun and different that what I normally read。 There was a lot of world building but it was well done。 Unfortunately I just didn't like Del。 Which is a problem since he is the narrator。 He did show some character growth over the book， but not as much as one would think given the situation。 There was a lot of good action though and I liked the others （mostly）。 And how can you not like a dragon。 It's impossible。 So overall a good read， but I am not sure I will continue the series。I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review。 。。。more

Fast paced， well crafted dragon fantasy book。Del is on two journeys。 The one to get off the island （which he can’t cuz of the kraken） and one of growth。 He’s stranded with Etenia and Lathan。 Oh， and dragon eggs。 Sounds familiar。 Three dragon riders？ Still， an engaging fantasy read。Received from Bad Boy Update。

Bless you Ava！ What an absolute delight this book is！ I was so engrossed from the beginning， I read it in a few hours！ Nothing and no one could tear me away！ Ava has the ability to make a very ordinary thief， extraordinary。 No， not because Del is a hero， but because his experiences are so tangible， one can completely relate to his circumstances， his thoughts and fears。 Growing up literally scavenging， lying and stealing to survive， Del wants out。 He dreams of starting a new life elsewhere， away Bless you Ava！ What an absolute delight this book is！ I was so engrossed from the beginning， I read it in a few hours！ Nothing and no one could tear me away！ Ava has the ability to make a very ordinary thief， extraordinary。 No， not because Del is a hero， but because his experiences are so tangible， one can completely relate to his circumstances， his thoughts and fears。 Growing up literally scavenging， lying and stealing to survive， Del wants out。 He dreams of starting a new life elsewhere， away from feeling the brunt of his mere existence， of new places and of seeing dragons， so he stows away on a merchant ship。 He could NEVER have imagined what he was in for， let alone being destined to ride a dragon！ Del is a character who， despite his perceptions， his background， his need to always put himself before any other ， eventually gains， well， character。 Such a beautifully written character。 Stranded on a tiny island with 2 other survivors， Etenia and Lathan， and a clutch of dragon eggs， the 3 face incredible challenges， especially with a kraken preventing any escape。 The plot and storyline is just gorgeous！ I loved how they struggle to survive， how they grow as individuals。 Of particular delight are the two hatchlings。 So entertaining reading how they grow and develop。 Loved their spunk and resilience and the bond。 And when Etenia and Del discover they can actually perform magic， I loved their competitive spirit。 After finally defeating their great adversary， one would think they could breathe a sigh of relief， but the worst is yet to come as a war is looming。 I'm so looking forward to the next stage of this wonderful adventure！I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review。 。。。more
